Gardening club is held every Thursday after school and is open to all pupils in Years 1 to 6. It is the children who are in charge of the garden and who decide what should be planted and where, and such ownership of the club and its activities is actively encouraged by the staff involved.

Ysgol Glannau Gwaun's gardening club was established in 2014 and the school's garden is situated on the lower ground floor of school. Due to the hard work of parents, governors, staff and pupils we now have four raised beds. In these beds we have grown peas, beans, carrots, rhubarb, strawberries, lettuce, raspberries, garlic, onions and courgettes. The wood and soil for the raised beds was kindly donated by Griffiths Builders, and the PTA were instrumental in setting up the garden for the school. It is thanks to the generous donations of everything from seeds and plants to tools and compost that we have been able to progress thus far.

Do come and see our greenhouse which was built by Mr Tom Latter and Mr Nigel Tyrrell, and was built from 2 litre plastic bottles donated by parents from the school. This has been a huge asset to the garden and has allowed us to sow seeds earlier and bring them on. Mr Nigel Tyrrell has also built a compost bin, in which we are cultivating our own compost from waste from the school kitchen.

As part of developing our garden we have recently sown a variety of wild flowers to attract butterflies and insects and are in the process of creating a sensory area in which children will be able to sit and relax, or carry out specific outdoor classroom activities.

We have been fortunate enough to have hundreds of daffodil bulbs donated to the school by the town council and Mr Tom Latter, which can be seen at the entrance of the school as well as in the school grounds.

YGG Clwb Garddio is a member of the Royal Horticultural Society and we are proud to announce that we are now members of Fishguard and Goodwick Gardening Club. We look forward to working with them to develop our school garden and to participate in their annual garden show. Thank you very much to those children who have attended Clwb Garddio since its inception and who have worked hard to create an attractive and thriving outdoor space for us all to enjoy,
