Autumn Term 2
This term we are learning about Superheroes, which the children (and Mrs Hayward) are really excited about! On Thursday 4th November we will be launching our topic by having a Superhero Immersive Day!
The children have already discussed what they would like to learn about in our topic and have come up with some great ideas such as making superhero potions, learning about how things fly, creating their own superhero and learning about real-life heroes.
Autumn Term 1
In our first half term Beachcombers was our classroom theme. To introduce our topic the children visited our local beach, which was so much fun as they found lots of interesting things which sparked great discussions.
We looked at different habitats on the beach and the variety of living things within the beach environment.
The children were creative contributors having made there own beach habitats out of shoe boxes and designed there own paper mache jelly fish.
Our class book was The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson. We practised our rhyming words and story sequencing to develop our language and literacy skills further.
In maths, we learnt about our number bonds to 10, addition, subtraction and place value. We practised our skills through practical and hands on activities to enhance our understanding and enjoyment.
