Traws Gwlad Cross Country

We travelled to Tegryn Football Club in November, with a huge team of 33 pupils, for our first cross-country competition. This is used as a warm up to the prestigious Oakwood Pembrokeshire cross-country championships. Each pupil performed admirably and the school returned with 4 medals;

Huw Davies, Year 6 – 3rd

Kaya Mujica, Year 5 – 2nd

Joshua Hancock, Year 5 – 2nd

Katelyn Sharp, Year 4 – 3rd

Trimming the team to 17 pupils for the Oakwood Pembrokeshire cross-country championships was difficult but the competition can be a very daunting experience. For everyone to complete the course was a fantastic achievement and again the produced some brilliant results with over 150 competitors in each race;

Huw Davies, Year 6 – 13th

Kaya Mujica, Year 5 – 9th

Joshua Hancock, Year 5 – 16th

Katelyn Sharp, Year 4 – 16th

Ellie Griffiths, Year 4 – 9th

For the final cross-country competition of the season, the school took 12 pupils to Carmarthen Show Ground for the Dyfed Cross Country Championships. Again, the competition is of a very high standard with schools from Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. The competition gives pupils the chance to represent Dyfed in Swansea the following week. Agonizingly, Huw Davies and Kaya Mujica just missed out on a Dyfed vest by just two places;

Huw Davies, Year 6 – 12th

Kaya Mujica, Year 5 – 4th

Ellie Griffiths, Year 4 – 20th
