O'n Gorau Daw Goleuni

Barddoniaeth yn y Tirlun

Daeth 2017 â phroject newydd sbon, sef 'Barddoniaeth yn y Tirlun'. Bydd y project yn arwain at greu wal llythrennedd yn iard chwarae'r ysgol - y geiriau cyntaf i'w hysgrifennu fydd darn o farddoniaeth, wedi'i greu gan yr ysgol gyfan, yn dathlu ein golygfa odidog.

The beginning of 2017 saw the start of a brand new school project called 'Barddoniaeth yn y Tirlun'. The project will create a literacy wall for the school's playground and it is our aim that the first words to be written will be a poem, created by the entire school, celebrating our magnificent view.

Man cychwyn y project oedd ymchwilio i enwau lleoedd Cymraeg gan roi sylw penodol i enwau sydd â hanes neu ddisgrifiad yn elfen gref iddynt. Cynlluniwyd fap esboniadol o Sir Benfro a fu'n sail i flynyddoedd 5 a 6 i greu byrddau stori'n disgrifio sut cafodd lle ei enw.

The project began by researching Welsh place names, paying particular attention to places that have strong narrative and description. An illustrative map of Pembrokeshire was drawn from which pupils in Years 5 & 6 created story boards describing how the place was named.

Still Life

Datblygodd plant y dosbarth derbyn a blynyddoedd 1 a 5 eu sgiliau arlunio trwy ddarlunio lleoedd megis Trwyn Bendro, Pen yr Afr a Thrwyn Siôn Owen.

Pupils from Reception, Year 1 and Year 5 developed their drawing skills by illustrating places such as Trwyn Bendro, Pen y Afr and Trwyn Sion Owen.

Enwmation

Wedi darllen byrddau stori disgyblion blwyddyn 6 o'r gweithdy ‘Translate’ dewiswyd pum stori a'u datblygu'n animeiddiadau gan flynyddoedd 1,2 a 4. Gellir gwylio'r animeiddiad stop-symudiad 'Enwmation' ar y dudalen Ffilm ac Animeiddio. https://www.ysgolglannaugwaun.co.uk/film-animation/

Reading the Year 6 pupils' story boards from the Translate workshop, 5 stories were chosen which were developed into animation by Years 1,2 & 4. The Stop Motion animation called 'Enwmation' can be viewed on the Film and Animation page. https://www.ysgolglannaugwaun.co.uk/film-animation/

Looking Out

Gan graffu ar yr olygfa o'r iard chwarae bu disgyblion y dosbarth derbyn, blwyddyn 1 a 3 a LRC 1 a 2 yn herio'r tywydd er mwyn darlunio'r tirwedd yn eu llyfrau braslunio.

Observing the view from the playground, pupils from Reception, Year 1, year 3 and LRC 1&2 braved the elements to draw the landscape inside their own sketchbooks.

Walk the Line

Er mwyn cynnal  ymchwiliad pellach i'r tirwedd, mentrodd plant dosbarth Miss Griffiths allan i dref Abergwaun i fraslunio adeiladau. Yn y prynhawn aeth plant o ddosbarth blynyddoedd 1 a 2 Mrs Morgan  ati i dynnu lluniau o'r dre trwy edrych ar ffotograffau gan ddefnyddio mapiau Gwgl.

Investigating the landscape further, pupils from Miss Griffiths' class ventured out into Fishguard to sketch the buildings. In the afternoon pupils from Mrs Morgan's Year 1 and 2 class drew the town looking at photographs using Google Maps.

Mapping Out

Trwy gopïo'r  lluniau gafodd eu creu yn ystod y Project Barddoniaeth yn y Tirlun aeth disgyblion dosbarthiadau Miss Lewis a Mrs Rees-Davies ati i greu 20 metr o ddarlunio, yn cychwyn yn Ysgol Glannau Gwaun ac yn arwain ar hyd y ffordd yn arwain at Gaer Abergwaun.

Copying drawings created during the Barddoniaeth yn y Tirlun Project, pupils from Miss Lewis and Mrs Rees-Davies's classes created 20 meters of drawing, starting at Ysgol Glannau Gwaun following the road out to Fishguard Fort.

Reading the Rocks

Wrth ymweld ag arddangosfa deithiol Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Cymru 'Cofnodi'r Creigiau' yn Oriel y Parc , dysgodd plant LRC1 a 2 am batrymau a ffurfiant creigiau ym Mhrydain. Gan seilio'u gwaith ar fap daearegol gwreiddiol William Smith buodd plant yn peintio patrymau ac yn creu straeon am 'Beth sydd islaw?'
Yng nghwmni Elizabeth Stonhold, Arlunydd Preswyl presennol yr Oriel, cafodd y plant y cyfle i astudio'r prosiect Llinellau Arfordirol ac ychwanegu cofnod o'u profiadau yn y llyfrau braslunio cymunol.

Visiting the touring exhibition from the National Museum of Wales 'Reading the Rocks' at Oriel y Parc, pupils from LRC 1 & 2 learned all about the patterns and rock formations of Britain. Working from their studies of William Smith's original geology map, pupils painted their patterns and thought up stories of 'What's Underneath?'

With Elizabeth Stonhold currently Artist in Residence at the Gallery, pupils had the opportunity to study the Coast Lines project and add their own observational record of the day in the communal sketchbooks.

Creating Pattern

Gan alldynnu patrymau o'r darluniau a grëwyd o'r tirlun, buodd disgyblion y dosbarthiadau Meithrin, Derbyn (bore) a blynyddoedd 1 a 2 (Saesneg) yn creu eu stensiliau eu hunain a'u defnyddio i beintio patrymau ar ffabrig. Ochr yn ochr â'r gwaith tecstilau cafodd y plant gyfle i addurno un o'r 'mapiau' 10 metr a ysbrydolwyd gan yr olygfa o'n buarth.

Abstracting pattern from the drawings created of the landscape, pupils from Nursery, Reception (Morning), and Year 1&2 (English) created their own stencils that were used to paint pattern onto fabric. Alongside the textile work, pupils had the opportunity to decorate one of the 10 meter 'maps', inspired by the view from our playground.

Looking Back

Wrth gynnal ymchwiliad pellach i'n golygfa, ymwelodd disgyblion o ddosbarthiadau Miss Griffiths a Miss Davies â Chaer Abergwaun a Mynydd Dinas . Dyma'r man pellaf a welir yn ein golygfa ac fe gafodd y plant y profiad o edrych yn ôl tuag at yr ysgol o gopa'r mynydd. Wedi'u harwain gan Richard, parcmon y Parc Cenedlaethol, dysgodd y plant fwy am ein tirlun godidog a chawsant brofiad uniongyrchol o bersbectif gwahanol.

Investigating our view further, pupils from Miss Griffiths and Miss Davies' classes visited Fishguard Fort and Dinas Mountain. Being the furthest point in our view, the pupils experienced looking back towards the school from the top of the mountain. Led by National Park Ranger, Richard, the pupils learned more about our sublime landscape and experienced first hand another perspective.

A Colourful Collaboration

Gan ddefnyddio teclynnau pwrpasol i ganolbwyntio ar ardaloedd penodol o ddiddordeb yn y tirlun a welir o'r buarth, chwyddodd disgyblion dosbarth Mrs Lawrence eu hastudiaethau gwreiddiol ar dudalen ENFAWR o bapur. Gan gymryd gofal i gysylltu'r llinellau i gyd i greu bylchau a siapiau, trosglwyddodd y plant eu darlun i'r dosbarthiadau Meithrin a Derbyn i'w liwio. Gan greu eu hallwedd liwiau eu hunain bu'r plant yn taflu dis i benderfynu pa liw i beintio'r siapiau. O ganlyniad crëwyd tirlun hwyliog, creadigol ac ysbrydoledig.

Using view finders to focus on an area of interest from the landscape viewed from the playground, pupils from Mrs Lawrence's class enlarged their initial studies onto a HUGE sheet of paper. Being careful to connect all of their lines to create spaces and shapes, the pupils handed over their drawing for Reception and Nursery to paint. Forming their own colour key, pupils rolled a dice to decide which colour to paint the shapes. This resulted in a very cheerful, creative, inspirational landscape.

Abstracting Visual Descriptions

Gan edrych ar yr holl luniau a grëwyd yn ystod y prosiect buodd disgyblion blynyddoedd 5 a 6 yn anffurfio'r siapiau a ganfuwyd o fewn y gwaith i greu gwrthrychau cyfarwydd. Crëwyd dros 200 o ddisgrifiadau gweledol; caiff y rhain eu defnyddio i ffurfio'n disgrifiad barddol o'n golygfa o'r buarth.

Looking over all of the drawings created during the project, pupils from years 5 and 6 morphed shapes found within the work into familiar objects. Over 200 visual descriptions were created that will be used to form our poetic description of our view from the playground.

Poetry

Gan rannu'r disgrifiadau gweledol a dynnwyd o'r darluniau, treuliodd yr ysgol gyfan fore cyfan yn datblygu brawddegau disgrifiadol am yr olygfa. Roeddent yn anhygoel! Bydd ffilm o'r wal llythrennedd ar gael yn fuan ond dyma ychydig enghreifftiau i aros pryd - gobeithio y byddwch yn eu mwynhau.

Sharing the visual descriptions abstracted from the drawings, pupils throughout the whole school spent the morning developing the titles into descriptive sentences about the view. They were amazing! A film of the literacy wall will be available soon, but for now, we hope you enjoy these:

'Dinas Mountain emerges from the sea like a whale appearing for breath.' (Bl6)

'Wrth rasio lawr i Gwm Abergwaun mae'r car swnllyd yn cyfarth ac yn ymyrru ar y eglwys llygaid cysglyd.' (Bl6)

'The incorrect sky was rubbed out by the wind.' (BL3)

'Every night the lamp-post waters the school in light.' (Yr 3)

'In the fluffy Parc, the swings have got tied up in the wind.' (Yr3)

Y dasg nesaf oedd peintio'r teils!

Next job was to paint the tiles!
