Croeso i Ddosbarth Miss Davies – Blwyddyn 5 Cymraeg 2015/16
Tymor y Gwanwyn
Thema’r tymor diwethaf oedd ‘Bydded y Nerth gyda chi’.
Rydym wedi bod yn astudio:
Iaith – ysgrifennu dyddiadur ar Tim Peake, ysgrifennu’n greadigol, creu poster i berswadio, newid stori naratif mewn i sgript, ysgrifennu adroddiad newyddion, ysgrifennu adroddiad i gymharu darnau o waith celf a recordio trafodaeth grŵp.
Mathemateg – amrywiaeth o sgiliau, yn benodol mae’r plant wedi mwynhau gwaith ar ffracsiynau, degolion, canrannau, cyfesurynnau, adlewyrchu a chyfieithu siapiau.
Mae plant hefyd yn cael cyfle i fynd ar ‘Mathletics’ unwaith yr wythnos, a byddwn yn annog y plant i’w ddefnyddio adref, er mwyn datblygu sgiliau tablau.
Thema – astudio’r planedau a’r gofod, sut mae pengwiniaid yn cadw’n dwym, y Groegwyr, creu cyfansoddiad cerddorol gydag offerynnau, peintio a defnyddio pastelau olew wrth wrando ar ddarn o gerddoriaeth, creu model 3D o wennol gofod a defnyddio sgiliau TGCh i greu Pwerbwyntiau a gwaith ar Comic Life.
Ymwelwyr
Daeth Tim Brew o ‘Energy in Education’ allan i drafod am gynaliadwyedd ac arbed egni. Mae’r plant wedi bod yn creu adnoddau i ddangos i wahanol ddosbarthiadau er mwyn annog y disgyblion i arbed egni o gwmpas yr ysgol.
Cafodd y plant ymweliad gan PCSO Carwyn Phillips ac Eirian Thomas, yn siarad am gadw’n ddiogel ar y wê ac yn y gymuned. Cawson nhw gwrs ar Gymorth Cyntaf hefyd - dyma nhw gyda'u tystysgrifau!
Daeth Pat Truss a Mandy Lacey, nyrsys yr ysgol allan i gael trafodaeth am dyfu i fyny.
Cawson ni adloniant gyda Ric-a-Do, yn canu a pherfformio hen ganeuon Gwerin Gymreig.
Ymwelodd Marc Griffiths â’r ysgol er mwyn gwneud gwasanaeth hwylus ar gredu yn eich hunain.
Llwyddiannau
Parti Llefaru – 3ydd yn yr Eisteddfod Gylch.
Deuawd – 2il yn yr Eisteddfod Gylch.
Grŵp Dawns Greadigol – 2il yn yr Eisteddfod Dawns.
Ruby Morse – 3ydd yn yr Eisteddfod Dawns.
Côr – 1af yn yr Eisteddfod Sir, ac maent yn mynd ymlaen i’r Eisteddfod Genedlaethol.

Tymor yr Haf
Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at ddechrau astudio ein thema newydd, sef ‘Y Filltir Sgwâr’.

Welcome to Miss Davies’ Class – Year 5 Welsh 2015/16
Spring Term
The theme for this term was ‘May the Force be with You’.
We have been studying:
Language – writing a diary on Tim Peake, creative writing, creating a persuasive poster, converting a narrative into a playscript, writing a news report, writing a report to compare pieces of art work and recording a group discussion.
Maths – we’ve covered many skills, the children have especially enjoyed fractions, decimals, percentages, co-ordinates and translating and reflecting shapes.
Pupils also have the opportunity to work on Mathletics once week, which we would like to encourage them to use at home.
Theme – studying space and the planets, how penguins keep warm, the Greeks, composing a piece of music with instruments, painting and using oil pastels while listening to music, creating a 3D model of a space shuttle and using ICT skills to create PowerPoints and work on Comic Life.
Visitors
Tim Brew from ‘Energy in Education’ came out to discuss sustainability and saving energy. The children have been making resources to show to the classes to encourage the pupils to save energy in the school.
The children were visited by Carwyn Phillips and Eirian Thomas regarding Safer Internet use and keeping safe in the community. They also had a course on First Aid - here they are with their certificates!
Pat Truss and Mandy Lacey, the School Nurses, visited Year 5 and 6 to discuss growing up.
Ric-A-Do entertained the children with traditional Welsh Folk songs.
Marc Griffiths visited the school presenting a fun assembly on Believing in Your Dreams.
Achievements
Recitation Group – 3rd in the area Eisteddfod.
Duet – 2nd in the area Eisteddfod.
Creative Dance Group – 2nd in the Dance Eisteddfod.
Ruby Morse – 3rd in the Dance Eisteddfod.
Choir – 1st in the County Eisteddfod, and they’ll be going through to the National Eisteddfod.
