Mae gan Ysgol Glannau Gwaun cymdeithas 'Ffrindiau' heb ei ail. Maent yn gweithio'n ddi-baid dros blant ein hysgol ac yn galluogi'r ysgol i gefnogi'r plant drwy godi arian ar gyfer adnoddau a thripiau er mwyn ehangu profiadau ein disgyblion. Dros y flwyddyn diwethaf, maent wedi helpu gyda cost tripiau i Theatr Gwaun dros y Nadolig, wedi codi arian tuag at wella yr ardal allonol, wedi cynnal digwyddiadau yn yr ysgol megis ein noswaith Bingoa oedd yn boblogaidd iawn ac wedi cefnogi llawer o weithgarddau cymdeithasu.

Ysgol Glannau Gwaun has a 'Ffrindiau' association that is second to none. It works tirelessly to support our school and enables us to support our children through fundraising for valuable resources and trips to broaden the experience of our pupils. They have, over the last 12 months help subsidise trips to Theatr Gwaun at Christmas, raised money for improving the outside area, held events in school such as our popular Bingo evenings and supported many social events. Friends of Ysgol Glannau Gwaun

The Friends Association is the equivalent of a school PTA.  It is an informal group and open to everyone who would like to offer support and be involved, not just parents and teachers.

Aims of the Friends:

• To raise funds to help the school provide extra resources for the children.

• To run social events for parents and children providing an opportunity for people to meet and get to know each other and have fun.

• To provide support for school trips, outings and other special events.

Asked what a difference the Friends Association makes to the school, our acting Head Teacher Geraint Williams said “The school wouldn’t function to its maximum capability without the Friends and makes the lives of the school children fuller”.
